The Software Engineer Akram Ahakkam who was employed at a private company was arrested in connection with the April 21st attack is currently in custody of the Police Terrorist Investigation Division.

A resident of Dehiwala, he was arrested on April 27th by the Army intelligence directorate officers.

Akram was arrested on charges of having connections with those connected with the Easter Sunday attacks and aiding and abating in illegal activities.

Upon interrogation, Akram had revealed that he had been involved in the process of connecting with persons with links to the ISIS through social media since 2014.

According to Akram, the Dehiwala bomber Jameel and Kochchikade bomber Muath and five others who had come with Saharan had volunteered to be suicide bombers.

He had revealed during interrogation that in February this year, the Dehiwala and Kochchikade suicide bombers had come to meet with him at the private company he worked in.

It was also found that after the April 21st bombings, this suspect had condemned the easter Sunday attacks on his Face Book account but had been maintaining social media accounts under the name Abu Khaleed.
