No UN peacekeeping troops in SL- Army

The Sri Lanka Army has vehemently rejected statements circulating on social media claiming UN peacekeeping soldiers have been deployed for service within the island.

Speaking Acting Media Spokesman Major General Roshan Seneviratne said the Buffel vehicles shown in pictures circulating on social media belong to the Sri Lanka Army.

Major General Seneviratne said the videos had been obtained during a test drive session.

Therefore the Acting Media Spokesman of the Army rejected all social media posts claiming they are fake.

The Major General therefore requested the public to be more responsible in sharing information by considering the prevailing situation in the country.

The Acting Media Spokesman said such false claims pose a major threat to national security.
