Air Marshal S Dias new Air Force Commander

Air Vice-Marshal Sumangala Dias has been appointed as Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force.Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force Vice Air Marshal Sumangala Dias was promoted as a Air Marshal by the President Maithripala Sirisena and will serve as the 17th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

Air Marshal Sumangala Dias was appointed as the Commander of the Air Force, following the retirement of the 16th Air Force Commander Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy.

The Former Air Force Commander was appointed as the Commander in Chief of the Air Force on the 12 of September 2016.

President Maithripala Sirisena offered his congratulations to the newly elected Air Force Commander via Twitter.
