PM's sister closes down PM's digital unit

The staff of Prime Minister's digital media unit have been inconvenienced today (31 May) as Prime Minister's sister Shanika Wickremesinghe has closed down all offices of the unit and kept the keys with her.

The attempt to contact Ms. Wickremesinghe in order to inquire on this regard failed and she did not respond to the text message sent to her.

When inquired Thushara Wanniarachchi , the head of Prime Minister's digital media unit, stated that he has not served the position since July last year.

It has also been reported that few government employees have also been employed at the unit and they have not been informed as to which unit they should report.

It is said that the employees have also inquired from the Prime Minister's Secretary on this regard and they have not been given a definite answer.
