Palani temple to shut down winch for 45 days for maintenance work

The first winch at the Dhandayudapani Murugan Temple in Palani will be shut down for 45 days starting Monday.

According to reports, the winch will be shut down from 3 June for 45 days for maintenance work.

The winch is one of the modes of transport for devotees wishing to climb the Palani hill to worship at the temple on top of it.

One of the richest temples of the State, it also boast of rope car apart from the usual stairway to reach the top.
