S Viyalendiran commences a fast in Batticaloa

Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarian S Viyalendiran, who supports the Joint Opposition, has launched a fast unto death campaign in Batticaloa.

When contacted by NewsRadio MP Viyalendiran said he commenced a fast in support of the protest carried out by Parliamentarian Venerable Athuraliye Rathana thera calling for the removal of Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and Governor of the Western Province Azath Salley and Governor of the Eastern Province MLAM Hizbullah from their posts.

The Parliamentarian is engaged in the fast at the Gandhi Park in Batticaloa.

MP Rathana Thera yesterday commenced a fast unto death campaign opposite the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy.

The Thera said he commenced the fast as a favourable response was not received despite granting the President a 24 hour period to dismiss the trio.
