Launch immediate inquiry into charges - Hizbullah

The former Governor said he will fully support all investigations. He said he handed in his resignation to the President and requested the Head of State to launch an investigation into the charges against the him without delay.

He stressed he is 100% innocent of these charges, adding he also has no connections to terrorism. The former Governor further noted he did not resign simply because of allegations that have political intent behind them.

Hizbullah resigned from the post of Governor of the Eastern Province.His letter of resignation was accepted by President Maithripala Sirisena.
