Catholics too demand Governor post!

The Catholic Council has focussed attention on seeking one of the nine Governor’s posts for a Catholic, it is reported.

Currently, there isn’t a single Catholic among the nine governors.

The Catholic Council had discussed that had at least one Catholic Governor been appointed, it would have been useful especially during the recent incidents which targeted the Catholics.

They had expressed disgruntlement over the government and President who despite eternally talking about reconciliation, equality and fairness, had overlooked the Catholics in the country.
Hence, a Spokesman of the Cardinal told Sri Lanka Mirror that they were hopeful that a Catholic would be considered when Governors are being appointed.
