Prime Minister Modi prays at Kerala’s Guruvayur Krishnan Temple
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today had darshan at the famous Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple in Kerala.
Attired in Kerala’s traditional mundu (dhoti), the Prime Minister was received with poorna kumbam in front of the temple.
Modi was accompanied by Kerala Governor P Sadasivam, who arrived bare-chested, during his visit to the temple.
A huge crowd had gathered in front of the temple to see the Prime Minister who returned their greetings with folded hands.
After the darshan at the temple, Modi also performed thulabaram, where one is weighed against flowers or fruits that is then donated to the temple. The Prime Minister was weighed against lotus flowers.
Modi had yesterday used digital payments method to pay Rs 39,421 for his pooja at the temple.
On concluding the temple visit, he will be addressing BJP workers – for the first time in Kerala after the 2019 general elections – and then a public meeting at Guruvayoor Sree Krishna HS Ground.
Modi’s visit to Kerala coincides with Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Wayanad, in Kerala, the constituency that returned him to the Lok Sabha as he was defeated in his pocket borough in Uttar Pradesh, Amethi.
