Easter bombings : SIS report had not verified targets?

A weekend publication's report with regard to the intelligence reports warning of the Easter Sunday bombings, is said to be creating ripples.

According to the news report, the SIS chief had informed the then IGP - Pujith Jayasundera on April 09 that information received on the targets of a bombing attack on Easter Sunday were not verified.

The news report says that the SIS had not confirmed that the attack's mastermind Zaharan Hashim would be targeting Catholic churches and the Indian High Commission.

The newspaper had further said :

On April 09, SIS Chief - DIG Nilantha Jayawardena had sent the IGP a two-page specially intelligence report, further elaborating these facts.

Although the group had briefed their followers since 2016 through sermons and social media that Islam should be spread by destroying followers of other religions, specific information had not revealed that Catholic churches and the Indian High Commission were clearly targeted, the SIS report had said.
