Review: Men in Black 4 – Fight against aliens

The fourth instalment of Men in Black is out. It features Chris Hemsworth and his Thor Ragnarok co-star Tessa Thompson and Liam Neeson in lead roles.

The first part of the franchise featured Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, and it revolved around humans protecting and providing for aliens on Earth, who were on the run from their home planets.

The next two films were light and breezy and just good fun to watch. The latest speaks about neuraliser.

The story goes like this: An alien visits a young Molly’s home. MIB agents neuralise her parents and make them forget what they saw. After this, Molly (Tessa Thompson) has one mission in life – to make it to the MIB. And she somehow does, as Agent O (Emma Thompson) does not take much time to believe that she might have mettle to prove. Molly wants to assist Agent H (Hemsworth), who like every cinematic character, tells her that he works alone and does not need a partner. Yet, she manages to convince him, and soon they find themselves in possession of a deadly weapon and are being hunted by a deadly alien species. That’s not all; someone from the MIB has been compromised and is out to destroy the world.

The highlight of the movie is that the visual effects are good. The locations are exotic. Chris Hemsworth does good job. He is convincing on the screen and he salvages the film.

Directed by F Gary Gray (The Fate of the Furious) from a screenplay by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Trasformers: The Last Knight), MIB 4 makes a decent watch.
