Tamil lands are captured in the name of department of Archeology

Wanni District Parliamentarian Sivasakthi Anandan says that the Archeological Department under the Central Government of Sri Lanka is actively engaged in the attempt to acquire the lands and temples of the Tamil people in the North and East of Srilankan Tamil areas.

He also accused the Archaeological Department of identifying 337 places in the North and East for acquisition.

Tamil people in the North and the East are continuously carrying out protests alleging that the government departments under the central government, including the Department of Archeology, the Forest Department are involved in the acquisition of lands belonging to the Tamil people.

Recently, the Archaeological Department has been engaged in acquiring lands of Hindu temples in Mullaitivu and Trincomalee districts.

Speaking in parliament today, Vanni district parliamentarian Sivasakthi Anandan urged the TNA to hold talks with the government at the end of the regime led by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
