Brother Gangai Amaren takes friendly dig at Ilaiyaraaja, gets trolled
Ilaiyaraaja is turning 75 this year and the legendary musician is attending many felicitation events. His speech in one such event in a college has sparked a controversy.
Reportedly, the veteran musician has claimed that there is no musician at present who can compose music suitable for a film. This was heavily criticised by many on social media.
However, later it was revealed that his statements were misquoted and taken out of context.
Meanwhile, his younger brother Gangai Amaren, who is a film director and composer, took to Twitter to make a friendly dig at him. In reply to Ilaiyaraaja's alleged statements, he sarcastically tweeted, "Sorry, I can't come back to composing music."
Though Amaren made it in a good spirit, he was trolled by fans of Ilaiyaraaja. Amaren again tweeted that it was a friendly jibe and he talks to his brother in the same way.
Earlier, Gangai Amaren has criticised Ilaiyaraaj for rejecting the National Award for the original score for the film Thara Thappattai. Amaren also slammed Ilaiyaraaja for sending a legal notice to SP Balasubramanian over copyrights issue.
