By-election for Tiruvarur seat cancelled- Commission notice

The ANI news agency reported that the Chief Election Commission of India has issued a mandate to cancel the by-elections in Tiruvarur.

The Election Commission, which has ordered the state election commissioner to suspend the election results, has also announced that the proceedings of the District Election Officer and Election Commission officials are not valid.

In August last year, DMK president Karunanidhi announced that the Election Commission announced the date of vacant Tiruvarur Assembly constituency.

Accordingly, on January 28, voting was recorded and the vote count was on 31st. The nomination papers started on 3rd of last year.
