Capital punishment for a drug peddler soon

A man who was found guilty for possessing and peddling 4.40g of heroin in 2013, was yesterday sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court.

While handing out a judgement against the accused, High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga observed that the prosecutors have proved the case beyond reasonable doubts.

The accused Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Geoffrey, 43, a resident of Maha Vidyala Mawatha in Colombo 13 had been arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau on around January 1, 2013.
