Mahela vouches for Malinga’s ability

Former Sri Lanka Cricket Team Captain Mahela Jayawardena has responded through Instagram to social media comments and photographs recently regarding fast bowler Lasith Malinga’s belly.

This has nothing to do with six pack it is about his talent. Lasith Malinga has proved his talent and ability, the Instagram post stated.

“Malinga has always proved his ability at a time Sri Lanka really needed it. He has done so over the past ten years. I am happy that he is still at his best. He was on a mission with the new ball. Big players prove their performance during big matches and for Sri Lanka this is an exceptional win. This is also a good push in progressing towards the World Cup finals. When the four top teams play against each other, there would be a shift in the points table. New Zealand has to play against Australia and England in the next round of matches. This is a good opportunity for teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and West Indies to use this opportunity to reduce the points margin.”
