TN woman alleges daughter forcibly converted to Christianity, files complaint

A Hindu woman yesterday petitioned District Superintendent of Police after alleging that her daughter was forcibly converted to Christianity.
She sought the police to revert her back to Hindu. According to media reports, the woman was a resident of Arasur. She had filed a complaint with SulurPolice station, but they closed the case after her daughter who is aged 22 told the officials that she was a major and had converted to Christianity on her own terms. Following this, her mother approached the SP.
The petitioner had noticed her daughter wearing a chain with a Cross last week. When questioned she had told her mother that she had converted to Christianity. However, the woman’s mother insisted that her daughter was forced to convert and sought the intervention of the SP to get her back.
