TN man kills brother for falling in love with a Dalit girl

In a horrifying incident, a 24-year-old man allegedly killed his younger brother for being in relationship with a Dalit girl in full public view on Tuesday.

According to a media report, the accused Vinod Kumar did not approve of his brother loving a Dalit girl. On the fateful day, he saw his brother and the girl together at Mettupalayam. Angered by this, Vinod approached and scolded them. Then he took out a sickle and hacked his brother to death and injured the girl and fled away.

While his brother died on the spot, the woman who had serious cut injuries was hospitalised. Even as the police launched a hunt for him, Kumar surrendered before the local police yesterday.

A case under Indian Penal Code sections, including 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder), had been registered against him and further investigation was on police said.
