Sorry mummy papa, you will find my body under ITO Bridge: 26-year-old sends chilly WhatsApp message to family
A 26-year-old delivery boy in New Delhi allegedly committed suicide after sending a WhatsApp message to his family that read, "Sorry mummy papa. Please forgive me. My dead body would be under the ITO Bridge."
Police recovered the body three days after the WhatsApp message near Yamuna river in Delhi.
The victim was identified as Harsh Khandelwal. He went out with six of his friends on the night of June 30 to go to Murthal to celebrate one of his friends' wife's birthday. On July 1, his family and close relatives got a WhatsApp message which read, "Sorry mummy papa. Please forgive me. My scooter, purse and other things would be at ITO flyover and my body would be under the ITO Bridge."
Devastated after reading the message, Harsh's family reached ITO Bridge where they found his belongings but not his body. The family then lodged a missing complaint at Indraprastha Estate police station. According to the family, however, the police didn't pay much heed to their complaint at that time.
The body was recovered after three days on July 3 (Wednesday) at 3 pm from the Yamuna river, when some ragpickers saw the body.
His family has now alleged that this is a murder case. They have claimed that they talked to Harsh on July 1 in the morning and he said that he will be at home in some time. But after a few minutes, they got the WhatsApp message.
