Parliamentary Selective Committee summons 5 senior defense officials on 24th

The Parliamentary Select Committee probing the Easter Sunday attacks has summoned five senior most officials of the security forces.

Chairman of the Select Committee Deputy Speaker of House Ananda Kumarasiri said the five officers have been issued summons to be present before the Committee on the 24th of July.

Accordingly Chief of the State Intelligence Service Senior Deputy Inspector-General of Police Nilantha Jayawardene, Senior DIG in charge of the CID Ravi Seneviratne, CID Director Senior Superintendent of Police Shani Abeysekara, Director of the Terrorist Investigations Division SSP Waruna Jayasundara and a TID Inspector of Police Tharanga Pathirana are due to appear before the Committee.

The five were initially summoned to be present before the Select Committee at 10:30am today, however due to several of them having travelled overseas, the date was amended.

Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri said the report of the Parliament Select Committee will be compiled within the first week of August.
