Muslim Ministers won’t be sworn in this week – former Minister Kasim

Former Minister Faizal Kasim said that the Muslim Ministers who resigned from their posts would not take over their posts this week. He said although they had taken the decision to accept their ministerial posts again, they would reach a final decision in this regard having discussed the future action that needs to be taken.

Kasim noted that the acceptance of their ministries should take place in the same united manner as they resigned. However, he said the manner in which it should be done would only be decided upon after the matter is discussed further. He said no definite date has been set for the meeting with all Muslim MPs, adding that once all the MPs from outstation come to Colombo for parliament sittings, a date for the meeting would be decided upon after consulting all the Muslim MPs.
