Talks with Minister fail, Postal workers to continue strike for today

The 48-hour token strike launched by the employees of the Colombo Central Postal Exchange commenced at 4.00 pm Tuesday (16) will continue for today.

The convener of the Joint Postal Trade Union Front Chinthaka Bandara stated that the trade union action would continue as the talks with the Minister in charge of the subject failed.

He further stated that if the authorities fail to address these demands, a postal strike will be launched island wide.

Minister of Postal Services & Muslim Religious Affairs M H A Haleem said he hoped to find a solution to the problems of postal workers at the Cabinet meeting next Friday.
