Man arrested for raping differently abled woman in TN

Police here arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly raping a 20-year-old differently abled woman in Thanjavur district yesterday.

According to a press release, the accused was a family friend and frequently visited the woman’s house. The victim had polio and was paralysed. She live with her younger sister and grandmother.

The news came to light when the woman delivered a stillborn baby and she revealed that the accused had sexually abused her.

The police arrested him on charges of rape after the family filed a police complaint. Further investigation is on.
