Rs. 2,500 increment for state employees effective today

The Ministry of Finance says the Rs. 2,500 salary increment for state employees will come into effect from today.

The Ministry noted over 1.1 million state employees will accordingly receive the salary increment.The Finance Ministry said the basic salary of state employees will be increased by 107% in comparison to 2015, in addition to the Rs. 2,500 increase.

The government will incur a cost of Rs.1 Trillion in order to accommodate salary increments for government servants and pensioners.
