Several SLFPers in talks to join UNP- Ravi

Minister Ravi Karunanayake claims certain members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party have initiated discussions to join the United National Party.

Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo Minister Karunanayake said the upcoming Presidential Election will not be undermined under any circumstance.

The Minister noted all factions will unite together with the aim of leading the country towards development.

Minister Karunanayake meanwhile commenting on concerns over an imported hazardous waste container said the reasons that led to the sudden discovery and the failure of the Customs Department to raise concerns earlier must be evaluated.

He noted the failure to address such concerns promptly has resulted in greater issues.
