Bribery case against Wimal to be heard in Aug.

The bribery case filed against United People's Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa, for misappropriating 75 million rupees is scheduled to be taken up for hearing on the 8th of August.

The case was filed against MP Weerawansa by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for allegedly accumulating assets worth 75 million rupees through illegal means between 2010 and 2014.

The order was issued by Colombo High Court Judge Pradeep Hettiarachchi.Court was informed by the plaintiff that several banks have not granted access to the databases that contains records of accounts maintained by MP Weerawansa.

Accordingly, the hearing of the case was adjourned till the 8th of August.
