Law must be added to school syllabus-Akila

Minister of Education, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam says proposals put forth by scholars for the development of the country's education system, are very important.

Speaking at a function at the Education Ministry, Minister Kariyawasam called on experts to voice suggestions and proposals.

The Minister said people are unaware of the law when carrying out day to day activities, adding the Minister of Justice and him tabled a Cabinet paper and decided to incorporate law in to the school syllabus.

He noted the government believes there are several other topics that must be included in the syllabus.The Education Minister said, leading professors and doctors from all sectors are involved in making necessary changes.
