'COMALI' DIRECTOR RESPONDS TO RAJINI CONTROVERSY IN THE TRAILER

The trailer of Jayam Ravi's upcoming comedy film Comali has generated a lot of buzz amongst fans and audiences for it's satirical theme. Though the trailer has made noise for the right reasons, the film has also created a lot of uproar amongst fans of Superstar Rajinikanth for a scene that took a dig on the actor's political entry.

When contacted with Comali's writer and director Pradeep Ranganathan, the filmmaker had expressed worry over the uproar caused by the scene "Comali is a fun-filled film, and the story was told from the perspective of a coma patient, who gets reminded of 1996 when he witnesses the video of Rajinikath's political entry. The scene was added to express his point-of-view in a lighter manner. It is worrying to see fans getting offended by that scene."

The director had also claimed that he is a staunch supporter of the Superstar's political entry "I am a big fan of Rajini sir and I am extremely happy that he has already entered politics. I am also a supporter (of his political entry)" Pradeep believes that the controversy will be cleared once fans watch the scene in context of the film.

Comali is set to release on August 15. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samyuktha Hegde, Yogi Babu and K.S. Ravikumar in crucial roles. Comali is bankrolled by Ishari K. Ganesh under the banner Vels Film International.
