Former paceman Rumesh Ratnayake has been appointed as the interim coach of the national cricket team for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.
The announcement was made by the Sri Lanka Cricket hierarchy, during a media briefing currently underway in Colombo.
Accordingly, Ratnayake will replace Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha at the helm. The opening game of the two match series is slated to get underway from next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a 22-man Test squad has been named for the series.The National Team will be captained by Dimuth Karunaratne during the series against the Kiwis.
