Heavy winds expected in coastal areas

The Department of Meteorology warns of heavy winds in coastal areas off Puttalam, Galle and Matara Districts.

The Department said there could be sudden increase in wind speeds up to 70-80kmp over the next few hours.

Issuing a statement, the Department of Meteorology also warned of heavy rains in coastal areas.Therefore, fishing and naval communities were requested to remain vigilant during the prevailing inclement weather.
