The Esala perahera of the Bellanvila Rajamaha Vihara, postponed indefinitely

The Esala perahera of the Bellanvila Rajamaha Vihara, scheduled for the 27, 28 and 29 of August, has been postponed indefinitely, taking the Covid-19 crisis in the country said Chief Incumbent of the temple, Dr. Bellanvila Dhammarathana thero.  The Parithrana dharma sermon, which usually takes place for a week, will not take place this year and an all-night pirith sermon will take place instead. The afternoon dhana, (on 26 August this year), which would usually take place with the participation of 100 monks, has been reduced to 50 this year.
