Another consignment of 4 million Sinopharm Vaccines arrive Srilanka today

A large consignment of Sinopharm vaccines is arriving in Sri Lanka today (04) with the first batch already arrived in the country.

Tweeting, national carrier - Sri Lankan Airlines says that it is 'pleased to fly down 4 million doses of COVID-19 Sinopharm vaccines this morning from Beijing,China.'

According to the Chinese embassy in Colombo, this is the largest stock of vaccine doses to be received by Sri Lanka within a single day.

A statement issued by the Sri Lankan embassy in Beijing quotes ambassador to China - Dr. Palitha Kohona as saying that this consignment will further strengthen the vigorous inoculation programme of the Sri Lankan government.
