Jaffna kite festival takes place (video)

The annual Jaffna kite festival that coincides with Thai Pongal took place at Vigneswar grounds in Velvettiturai yesterday (15).

The district secretariat and the northern provincial education and sports ministry organized the event.

It brings an entertaining change for the tiring lives of the fisher-folk and farmers in the province.

This year, kites in various shapes and sizes were on display.
