Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama resigns saying cant be responsible for oncoming catastrophe

Consultant physician Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama has resigned from the Covid Prevention Technical Committee.

He has informed his decision to the Director General of Health Services and Secretary to the Ministry of Health via email. He has stated that he is vacating the post as he cannot agree with certain decisions that are been taken by the committee. 
 
Dr. Wijewickrama is the Senior Consultant Physician at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH).

He has further stated that the vaccination programme and the nationwide lockdown are not taking place as recommended by the Technical Committee and are been done based on other agendas and as such, he cannot be bear responsibility for the impending catastrophe.
