Body goes missing from Hospital morgue

Sri Lanka Police launched an investigation over the disappearance of a dead body from the Elpitiya Hospital.

The body of a 77-year-old male was brought to the hospital for a COVID-19 test after he passed away at home.

The COVID-19 tests had returned negative and the minor staff had reportedly released the body to the daughter of the deceased.

However, relatives claim the body was never released.

The OIC of the Uragasmanhandiya Police told News 1st that the body is not at the Elpitiya Hospital Morgue.
