Jaffna-born Kamsajini in Norway Parliament

Jaffna-born Kamsajini (Kamzy) Gunaratnam, now a citizen of Norway, was elected to its Parliament at the General Elections held recently.

Entering politics from the Labour Party, she was the 2015 Deputy Mayor of Oslo as well. 

33 year old Kamzy left Sri Lanka at the age of 3 years and went to Norway as a Tamil refugee, where her parents were engaged in the Fisheries Industry in North Norway.

Due to her involvement with politics, she was banned from visiting Sri Lanka at one time.
