"I will kill you" MC Chairman threatens police over father’s arrest

A heated exchange of words had taken place between the Chairman of the Maharagama Municipal Council Tiraj Lakruwan and the police.

That was when the police along with a group of CEB officials had gone to check on information that Tiraj's father had illegally obtained electricity from the main grid.

It is said that this situation arose after the police went to arrest the chairman's father for illegally obtaining electricity for the house.

He had told the police that it was his privilege to have electricity in his house and threatened to kill the officials who came there.
