We saved Srilanka from Western debt trap !- Public notice released by China

Chinese Embassy in Colombo has noted its Tweeter that they had saved Srilanka from Western debt trap.

The Embassy pointed out that when Srilankan government was to lease out Hambanthotta Harbour in 2017, China came forward to help Srilanka to save it from falling into Western debt trap.

Srilanka gave Hambanthotta Harbour to China as it has no money to pay for international bonds.

Except this, Srilanka, did not give Hambanthotta Harbour only to pay the due money Excim bank. When it is viewed under this basis it would be clear that China has helped Srilanka only to rescue from falling into Western debt trap. Besides all these , Srilanka has received only 10%  of all the debts from Western countries.

The Chinese Embassy pointed out in its Tweeter account that amount comes to 3,888.2 million dollars only.
