Members of Jacto-Geo launch into indefinite strike despite govt warning
Defying the Tamilnadu government that issued a stern warning to members of Jacto-Geo, the planned indefinite strike was launched today in the State.
The government staff and teachers are demanding reverting to the old pension scheme in their 9-point charter of demands.
Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan, in a circular issued yesterday, had said ‘no work, no pay’ for the protesting staff. She had also said any leave other than medial leave would not be accepted. Warning those joining the strike, she asked the heads of departments to submit the attendance proforma by 10.15 this morning.
