Showery conditions to continue

The Department of Meteorology forecasts scattered showers or thundershowers in the Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts today (03).

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Galle and Matara in the evening or night.

Fairly heavy showers of more than 50 mm can be expected at some places in the  Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces.

Fairly strong winds gusting about 40kmph are expected in the Northern and North-Central provinces and in the Hambantota district.

Misty conditions can occur in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces in the morning.

The Department requests the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
