Cardinal suspicious of President’s involvement in Easter attacks!

Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith says it is suspicious whether the Easter Sunday terror attack was allowed to happen in order to win the votes of the people.

He said this during a zoom conference held on the 08th regarding the Easter Sunday terror attack investigation.

Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith presided over a Zoom Technical Conference yesterday to educate Sri Lankans in Europe on the current progress of the Easter Sunday terror investigation.

Expressing his views during this session, the Cardinal said, “DIG Nalaka de Silva was arrested while holding an arrest warrant for Saharan. The report of the Parliamentary Select Committee which stated that further investigations should be carried out to find out whether the intelligence received was aimed at creating fear and uncertainty in the country by targeting the Presidential election.

It is true that the Muslim extremists had planned this attack. However, it is evident that while information regarding the attack was clear, it was allowed to happen in order to receive the votes of the people. Officials and politicians are 60% responsible for the attack. Those in power here are trying to cover this up. These people do not want to get information out of an investigation.”
