Companies creating a drug mafia in the country - Pubudu Jayagoda
Education Secretary of the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) - Pubudu Jayagoda says that a crisis situation has arisen in the country which includes a shortage and deregulation of drugs as well as the price increases and quality drops.
Speaking at a media briefing today (27), he said that there is currently a requirement of 525 drugs as well as 5,376 essential surgical instruments and medical equipment.
Noting that the Ministry of Health had allowed drug companies to continue this mafia, Jagoda charged that recent health ministers - Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Keheliya Rambukwell and Channa Jayasumana should be directly held responsible.
