Mother protesting over disappeared family, dies without knowing their fate
A mother of Tamil ethnicity, who took part in a Tamil mothers' protest for 1,898 days searching for forcibly disappeared, had passed away.
Thangarasa Selvarāni (75) of Christhavakulam, Vavuniya had passed away yesterday (02) in this manner, without knowing the fate of her son, son-in-law & grandson, who disappeared 14 years ago.
The three had disappeared in 2008 while they had gone to the Settikulam area in Vavuniya to gather firewood.
The family alleges that the military had a hand in their disappearance.
At least 115 relatives of disappeared persons have died so far, without knowing what happened to their family members.
