Thovil in front of Temple Trees

Sri Lankan Shaman performed a traditional 'Thovil' last night (08) outside Temple Trees - the official residence of PM Mahinda Rajapaksa.

For generations, Thovil has been a tradional rite used in Sri Lanka to ward of evil spirits or to exorcise mental or physical illness

The Thovil was a part of the weeks long protests calling for the President, PM and the government to step down.
