An unidentified group has set fire to the house of a filling station owner in the Ipalogama area in Anuradhapura last night (21).

Police stated that fuel was distributed at the filling station since noon yesterday (21), however, it had failed to maintain stocks.

According to Police, a petrol bomb had been hurled at the filling station owners’ two storied house by an unidentified mob.

The owner of the house, his wife and two children were present at the time, and the fire had reportedly damaged the second floor.

Subsequently, fire was put out by the residents of the area.
