#NoDealGama protestors march to PMs house, blocked by cops

Protestors from NoDealGama opposite Temple Trees made their way to the Prime Minister’s private residence in Flower Road, Colombo demand an opportunity for talks.

However, they were stopped by Sri Lanka Police at Flower Road, Colombo leading to a heated situation.

“Why are you blocking the road? Don’t block the road to protect those involved in the Bond Scam,” said one protestor to police officers.

“Ranil speaks of the Molamure family. I am here from the Meedeniya Walawwa. Before she became Lady Molamure, Adeline Meedeniya was my grandmother. Do not use the Meedeniya name again. He may be my uncle, but he is a traitor,” said another recalling a recent statement by the Prime Minister on late Adeline Molamure, the first elected female legislator in Sri Lanka who made it to the first State Council.

However, Sri Lanka Police reasoned that the protestors were moving along an area where several schools are located and examinations are taking place.

Thereafter, the group attempted to reach the Cambridge Terrace residence of the Prime Minister via another road.

However, again the police blocked them and informed them of a court order against the protest, following which they vacated the areas.
