Freedom for Ranjan!

SJB Parliamentarian S.M. Marikkar said that currently incarcerated Ranjan Ramanayake had said that there was no need for anyone to join the government for his freedom.

He said this during a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday (26).

“Yesterday I went to see Ranjan Ramanayake. He clearly stated that there was no need for anyone to join the government in order to obtain freedom for him.

He did not want anyone to make him a sacrifice. In any case, by next May he should be released. Due to his good behavior and bonus, he should be freed by January or February next year.

He is not prepared to fall at the feet of the Rajapaksas’ in order to get freedom. He also clearly said that no one else should sell him and fall at the feet of the Rajapaksas.

I heard that Ranil Wickremesinghe had said a committee would be appointed. What Committee? Was Duminda Silva released by appointing a committee? Then, was the Royal Park person released by appointing a committee?”
