JVP - FSP to seize power outside of the constitution?

It has been revealed that the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP), are preparing to reunite.

The FSP is formed by a group of JVPers who had defected several years back.

Leader of the FSP - Kumar Gunaratnam has revealed details in this regard during an online interview.

He says that seeing a unification of the JVP and FSP for the people's struggle has become the wish and demand of the people who are hoping for a progressive change in the society.

Noting that the two parties have conflicting opinions over tactics used to gain power, Mr. Gunaratnam has pointed out that his party is confident of going beyond the current constitution of the country and securing power through a people's struggle.

Meanwhile, responding to recent comments aired by IUSF convener - Wasantha Mudalige, Gunaratnam also said that the IUSF is not an organization functioning under the FSP.
