Despite losses, SriLankan top manager paid Rs. 3.1 million salary!

A management level official of the national carrier - Sri Lankan Airlines, has received a monthly salary of Rs. 3.1 million despite the company continuing to incur losses, a COPE report has revealed.

The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has been paying close attention to the fact that the funding for the relevant payment has been passed through cabinet papers with public funds.

The report has further revealed that the airline has incurred a net loss of Rs. 45,674 million in 2021.
