Basil hatches new plan to win March elections!
It is reported that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has planned to hold the local government elections in March next year, which was postponed by a year.
The President had instructed the members of the SLPP Parliamentary Group at a meeting held at the President's House in Colombo recently, to prepare for the local government elections to be held in March next year.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the National Organizer of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Basil Rajapaksa, who resigned from his National List MP post, is to reorganize his party and make plans to win the forthcoming local government elections.
Basil Rajapaksa, who is a dual citizen, is currently in the US and is expected to return to the country after a month’s vacation.
It is reported that upon his return, he is scheduled to meet with SLPP ministers, MPs and organizers at district level and discuss the restructuring of the party and the local government elections.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the forthcoming local government election will be held in the same manner as the previous local government election.
